Sheldon is a super mellow, supper sweet big boy. Sheldon is safe for leadline but needs to learn more to be an independent riding horse. Not much fazes this beautiful boy. Sheldon was very well loved in his previous adoption for the last 5 years and due to life circumstances, returned to GSH fall 2021. Sheldon has gone blind in one eye but that does not hold this boy back.
Sheldon was actually the first foal born to Gentle Spirit Horses Rescue to the late permanent resident, Jackie. Jackie came to us with Sheldon's sire, Duke. Both Duke and Jackie were very chubby when they came into the GSH programs and at 19, Jackie's previous owner said that she had not had any foals for several years. To make sure it was fat and not baby, Jackie was pregnancy checked at the end of May...and we were told she would be due end of June, beginning of July. Jump ahead 7 months later to December 18th and baby Sheldon was born. It was an extremely long pregnancy but both mama Jackie and Sheldon were healthy and happy.
