Winnie life-giving surgery update!
Tomorrow is one month since Winnie's life-giving surgery on her left front to correct her neglected contracted front hoof. Yesterday we got new x-rays done before her first post-surgery rehab trim on Saturday to see where things are and help our farrier make good choices for her trim and shoe reset.
Winnie is now 10 months old and growing like a weed! She is now having limited turnout in a small pen and has no supportive wraps or splints and is doing well. She will have 4-week trims and resets and needs to build muscle on her left side, which has obvious atrophy compared to her right. There are a few things we are watching but are happy with her progress so far!
Meanwhile, donations are at an all time low and we are very concerned about the next few months. We're trying to remain positive but need your support more than ever to continue to give horses like Winnie a chance. Consider a donation today to keep us going!
