Welcome Home Faith and Simba!

Last Sunday we welcomed this lovely pair, Faith and Simba into the shelter. These two have been very loved, however their owner passed away and her husband was struggling with their care, so they reached out through our owner surrender program for help. Originally we thought they were going to go live with a neighbor, however that fell through so here they are! We are grateful to be able help.

Both were reported to be about 25 years old and very kind. On intake, the pony Simba's teeth say he's closer to 30, while Faith's teeth say she's closer to 20. Both are easy to handle, sweet, and in good shape. They are very bonded to each other and struggling a bit with all the changes, but we are doing our best to make it an easier transition. We hope to get some time to work with Faith this weekend to see what she knows.

 

They will be looking for a home, preferably together, though we are working on helping them make new friends.

We are, unfortunately, now on a waiting list for owner surrenders until about mid March due to capacity, unless they are potential Dakota Showdown Horse Trainer Challenge horses. But please feel free to reach out and get on the list if you need help!
