We have GREAT news for Lily!

The biopsy on her third eyelid came back and the margins were clean! They were closer to the edge of the eyelid than they'd prefer BUT Dr. Black had already noticed that and removed more tissue from her medical canthus (inner corner of the eye) to be safe.

 

What does this mean? It means unless the tumor comes back she will NOT need chemotherapy after the foal is born!

 

So now we just keep her healthy and gaining weight to give her every chance for a strong and healthy pregnancy and foal. Her estimated due date is June 8 - meaning we are now counting down to May 15 which will be her "safe" date of 320 days. It's all an estimate, though, so we are monitoring everything daily to be prepared!
