Vet results: good news, good news, bad news!

Vet results: good news, good news, bad news.

Good news: Jazz was seen for a recheck on her eye ulcer and while it's still ugly, it shows signs of healing. She remains on stall rest and multiple medications every two hours.

Good news: Cocoa does NOT have his wolf teeth, thankfully, but did need a float. He did very well and has fresh new teeth to help him eat better. He is aged around 11-13ish, so is on track for the Showdown.

Bad news: Hugo's x-rays were devastating. We had a moment of brief optimism when we found he is covered in thousands of ticks so considered a tick borne disease could be causing the swelling in his fetlocks, but his x-rays made it clear it wouldn't matter. They are absolutely horrifying x-rays that show significant damage and there is absolutely nothing we can do than spoil him with heavy pain meds the next week or so as we make arrangements, and then let him go to greener pastures.

This news has forced us to face the truth about three other horses who we are holding our breath on, and we will unfortunately be saying goodbye to three additional horses in need at the same time. Please keep us all in your thoughts, and we will let you know more as we emotionally can face it.

Donations towards the vet bill from today and the upcoming costs for euthanasia are greatly appreciated:
