Sienna is available for adoption through our annual Homes for the Holidays!

Sienna may be the youngest horse on our list at nearly eight years old, but she’s already proven herself to be a seasoned partner and a truly kind soul. She arrived at Gentle Spirit Horses as a terrified, unhandled four-year-old straight from auction. It didn’t take long for her to settle in and reveal her friendly nature, quickly learning to trust and forming strong bonds with her handlers.

In her adoptive home, Sienna flourished. She became a trusted trail companion and even worked as a lesson horse, helping riders build confidence. But her story took an unexpected turn when a subtle limp appeared and wouldn’t go away. Heartbreaking x-rays revealed significant ringbone in one front leg, making her future as a riding horse uncertain. Her adopter, devastated but dedicated to Sienna’s well-being, contacted us when they had to relocate, and Sienna returned to us with open arms.

Since then, Sienna has seen a specialist and begun Osphos treatment to manage her condition. This treatment provides pain relief and aims to slow the degeneration in her leg, allowing her to enjoy a relatively pain-free life. With careful attention, she can still be lightly ridden, as long as her rider listens to her and respects her limits. Eventually, her arthritis may require treatment to encourage joint fusion, which will result in a permanent limp but offer long-term relief.

Despite these challenges, Sienna remains a bright and loving horse. She would thrive in a home with smaller or younger riders in a controlled environment, where her limitations are understood and embraced. Her maintenance needs are minimal, and her heart is as big as ever.

💖 Sienna’s story is a testament to resilience, partnership, and the beauty of second chances. Could you be the one to give her the home she deserves?
