SHELTER TALK!!!

Thank you for understanding our comments in the previous post aren't saying we don't appreciate advice and thoughts and learn a lot - but are just asking people to stop and think about the impact of comments during crisis times. We promised that we WANT to hear your advice and experience and enjoy providing a platform where people can learn ... so let's talk shelter anchors!
This is the shelter that flipped yesterday. It is normally facing southeast and is in the northwest corner of the 1-acre pasture it is in, which happens to be the south eastern most pasture. Therefore, when the wind does switch to the SE - which is rare - it gets the brunt of the wind like a bag is lifted up and over. There are no trees or anything, and fields across the road, so it is straight winds, usually very strong.
This shelter is currently upside down as it flipped at least twice. From where Dex was and her position, it either flipped up into the air and over her and then came back down OR flipped over approx 2.5 times and then fell back on it's roof and onto her.
We're thinking maybe wood posts in concrete, and/or tie down straps? Or are there stronger anchors? Those in our area, what are your thoughts about switching to facing due south with all these strange winds we've been having? Maybe this particular shelter should move to a more sheltered field and we build something on a foundation in this paddock? This thread is your opportunity to give us advice and share your experiences. We're in the right headspace to receive it right now and not beating ourselves up over every little decision

So, let's talk!
