#RehabRoundup - let's check in on the horses currently in rehab at the rescue
Medical:
Pepper - stall rest for large leg wound, doing well. Stall rest until end of year.
Mona - stall rest for hind end weakness, appears to be a strain above the hip.
Raven - ongoing rehab for heaves, weight loss and uveitis flareup. Concerned we are dealing with end of life issues.
Phoebe - rehab for weight gain. Not gaining as expected, concerned we are dealing with end of life issues.
Benny - navicular and weight gain. Equioxx has helped immensely and he's improving well. Needs continued weight gain before adoption.
Reba - returned from training thin and blind from an injury. Pen rest as she adjusts. She's gaining nicely and appears to have some vision in her right eye.
Honey - abscess/hoof bruise. Is walking sound and out of stall rest. Weight and coat are doing well. Expect end of rehab in 5-7 days.
Behavior:
Kody - in pasture, calming, and curious. Physical condition fully rehabbed, working on friendliness.
Lucy - in pasture, calm and friendly. Much calmer when bonded friends removed from pasture and accepting attention even in a group of friends without aggression. Next step: haltering and leading away from friends. Goal: Dakota Showdown 2024 prospect.
