🎉 Rehab Complete 🎉
Paisley - corneal ulcer in left front eye. Eye has mostly healed, pain is gone, and she is back in pasture. We are still checking it daily but no meds are currently required.
Whiskey - founder/laminitis and EMS. Whiskey is walking/trotting sound without boots, and has been turned out to pasture. We are still monitoring him but are accepting adoption applications.
Reba - cuts on left front knee. Has been healing fine and is at a good weight. Well adjusted to her blindness. Has been moved into the blind paddock and is doing well with her new friends.
🏥Medical 🏥
Sugar - Squamous cell cancer/tumor in vulva. Scheduled for surgery on Nov 21 at Nebraska Equine. Rocky - recent intake due to inability to maintain weight. Gaining weight quickly with the addition of high fat and senior pellets to his diet twice a day. Taking applications for adoption.
Benny - navicular. Still working on pain management. Soreness seems more focused on right front, and he did have a left hind tendon injury, so we are wondering at this point if his soreness is more related to that than the tiny bit of navicular that the x-rays showed. Will likely remain no rehab all winter; considering trying Osteo-Max and/or Osphos treatments for relief.
🥕 Behavior 🥕
Lucy - in pasture, calm and friendly. Much calmer when bonded friends removed from pasture and accepting attention even in a group of friends without aggression. Has been accepting the halter over her nose and not showing any aggression when her friends are removed. Goal: Dakota Showdown 2024 prospect.
Kody - in pasture, calming, and curious. Physical condition fully rehabbed, working on friendliness. Is being caught and brought in, and had his first (lightly sedated) meeting with the farrier.
