🎉 Rehab Complete 🎉
Plucky - 6 weeks into a founder/laminitic episode, Plucky is walking well with no heat or pulse in her hooves. She is back in pasture, on Prascend for her newly diagnosed Cushings, and being watched to ensure she's ok, but not considered in rehab at this time.
Phoebe - rehab for weight gain. She's at a decent weight though still has room to gain, but not considered on rehab at this point. Available for adoption to an experienced Pasture Pal home.
🏥Medical 🏥
Sugar - has returned from her training/medical foster where she was receiving chemo for a squamous cell tumor. Tumor has shrunk and she will be going in for potential surgical removal. Whiskey - founder/laminitis and EMS diagnosis. While Whiskey is walking/trotting sound even without his boots, he does still have some heat and a pulse in his hooves, so is still in a smaller paddock and considered on rehab.
Paisley - corneal ulcer in left front eye. Is back on stall rest due to an increase in swelling when moved to a larger pen.
Rocky - recent intake due to inability to maintain weight. Gaining weight quickly with the addition of high fat and senior pellets to his diet twice a day. Taking applications for adoption.
Reba - cuts on left front knee. Continues to adjust well to her blindness from a training accident. Has moved to a small, secure pen to complete healing.
Benny - navicular. Trimmed his toes back to help alleviate pain, but was too painful to shoe. Will revisit in a month with sedation, and see how reshaping his hooves helps. Very considered about the excessive pain as his x-rays are not bad at all; concerned about being able to get it managed. Considering removal to a warmer environment as a last attempt to get him comfortable.
🥕 Behavior 🥕
Lucy - in pasture, calm and friendly. Much calmer when bonded friends removed from pasture and accepting attention even in a group of friends without aggression. Has been accepting the halter over her nose and not showing any aggression when her friends are removed. Goal: Dakota Showdown 2024 prospect.
Kody - in pasture, calming, and curious. Physical condition fully rehabbed, working on friendliness. Is being caught and brought in, and had his first (lightly sedated) meeting with the farrier.
