Are you the one who is willing to give Maverick a chance and a great home?
Maverick had some visitors this weekend, but unfortunately they found a different horse who was a better fit. However, we had a chance to learn more about him and are ready to find him a home!
Maverick is an 18-yr-old, 14.3 hand tall BLM Mustang who is friendly and easy going. Maverick came to us after one of his owners died and the other broke a hip. After losing weight in a boarding barn in Utah, he was brought to South Dakota by a local trainer who asked for our help when he arrived significantly underweight. He is reported to have had professional training about 10 years ago, but it is unknown if he has been ridden since.
Maverick is easy to catch, leads and loads well, is good for farrier and handling. He easily accepts blankets and a saddle, and stood well for mounting. He was very anxious when asked to move with a rider, but we suspect with an experienced rider and some refresher rides he will be a solid partner.
