At Gentle Spirit Horses Rescue we are grateful every single day for every one of you. When things seem scary or bleak, you lift our spirits and keep us going with your caring and support. Thank you, especially this year, doesn't seem enough. But it needs to be heard.
Thank you.
We started this year with huge goals and high hopes. A new location, an abundance of horses from seizures, and a year of survival and moving had us eagerly anticipating 2020 and all it would bring. Obviously, it brought something else, and our optimism quickly turned back into sheer survival.
Thanks to you, we are surviving, and able to look around in gratitude. We've learned to adapt and appreciate what we have, and in doing so, our gratitude turns what we have into enough.
We are grateful for our new, large location, so the horses have plenty of shelter and room to move and survive, and meet their needs.
We are grateful that our entire hay fund was raised already this year - the earliest we've ever done it - and the final load is coming tomorrow.
We are grateful for loyal volunteers who have joined us even as we have been unable to invite new volunteers in, driving extra to help us start to turn this property into a beautiful home for South Dakota's horses in need.
We are grateful that every time we ask, you help. You listen, you care, you reach out, you share, you give. In our lowest lows and highest highs, you are right there with us.
And most of all, we are grateful to be facing the bitter winter with hope.
Thank you.
