Love is Love is Love is Love is Love.

South Dakota Gives reminds us that diversity, equity and inclusion are vital to a strong South Dakota. They encourage us to share our non-discrimination statement ... and explain it. Gentle Spirit Horses does not and shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status, in any of its activities or operations.

But what does that mean?

To us, all we have to do is look outside and watch the horses. On any given day you can see a variety of red, grey, black, yellow, spotted, and splotched horses hanging out. Young, old, somewhere in between, male or female, it doesn't matter. We have blind horses, horses with ambulatory problems, horses with lung problems, tall, short, fat, and skinny horses. Friendships and strong bonds are formed between any combination thereof.

None of those things matter to the horses.

None of those same things matter to us when it comes to the people who volunteer, adopt, need help, support, or visit.

Where your ancestors are from, the color of your skin, who you love, whatever gender you identify as, how old you are, able-bodied or not, whatever political party you support ... none of that matters.

Though if you drive a Dodge pickup we may give you a bit of sideye *joke*

In all seriousness, we love and embrace the diversity that comes through our doors, and we've had people who fit every single one of those labels above. If you love horses, and respect each other, you are welcome here.
