We woke up to these beautiful photographs of Rachel from last weekend by Spenser. While it's always thrilling to see a horse full of life and running, Rachel's story makes it just a little more special. See, Rachel was an intake from ISPMB who had such horrible wry feet she had never been seen moving faster than a walk, and even that wasn't easy. We suspected she would be at best a permanent resident, if not a compassion case, but she came with a suckling foal, Hamilton, and we were there to help.
X-rays showed us the wonderful news that her bone structure is nearly normal and with a year or so of good corrective trims she would be sound and trainable. Here we are, nearly a year later, and look at her! She's about 7 years old and has grown into a nice, solid mare who takes all the younger horses under her wing. And look at her fly!
Your support is what helps us give horses like Rachel another chance. Without you, we couldn't do the hands-on work. And right now, we need your help to pay off a large vet bill and purchase spring vaccinations.
