#ShowSomeLove to GSH Horses This Valentine's Day

Seven years ago, shortly after incorporating and becoming a "real" rescue, rather than just a crazy family, we found ourselves coming down from a high stress rescue of 41 Morgan horses in the middle of a brutal Iowa winter. Feeling run down, cold, and overwhelmed, we did a simple contest ... we asked you all to #ShowSomeLove to the GSH horses by sending in Valentines. 

It's surprising how much of an uplift it is to receive a little piece of love in the mail. At the time, we didn't have the facility we do now, so we could only share them on Facebook. This time around, we'd love to fill the walls of our barn with Valentines of all kinds! Encourage your children to visit our website and pick their favorite horse and draw them a Valentine! Or maybe do like some did in the past and send a single small Valentine to every horse. Maybe throw in a small treat, a couple dollars for a bag of treats, some mints, whatever. Let's shower the GSH horses ... and volunteers who are freezing doing chores this time of year ... with LOVE!
