Lafayette is from the International Society for the Protection of Mustangs and Burros, and came to GSH in November of 2016 during a crisis at ISPMB involving county impoundment and seizure, overcrowding and lack of resources. Lafayette is a gelding who was kept close to the house in a pen environment, and not wild in the pastures. Accordingly, he was in very good condition and weight on intake, has obviously been dewormed, however he is in desperate need of a trim on his front hooves with one growing several inch skis. His hoof structure itself appears to be in decent shape and we're hopeful that he will return to nearly normal hooves with a trim or two. This boy is a gem. He is kind and inquisitive, only 2 years old but big, smart and learning quickly. He likes people and actively seeks them out and has already started learning ground manners and leading. We are confident anyone who adopts our Lafayette is going to have an amazing horse.
