Cinnamon is an adorable, sweet pony who adores attention and grooming. She was surrendered after she was bought by a couple who was told when they bought her that she just needed some farrier work done. Her feet needed more than just a simple trim and the couple felt that the rescue had the resources to give her the treatment that she needed. She has had her feet trimmed once now and did very well. Our farrier is very positive that with regular professional farrier trims, she should make a complete recovery.
Cinnamon is also broke to ride. We evaluated her this weekend. We didn't do much but the round pen has sand so it's soft. She acted like the saddle was spooky at first but settled down. Brooklyn climbed up on her like she was a couch and she stood great. Brooklyn is a young 5 year old and is just learning so Cinnamon wasn't quite sure what to do when I took her off the lead and tried to get Brooklyn to steer but she was patient. She also stood very well for Brooklyn while she groomed her and sang to her.
Once Cinnamon is released from rehab by our farrier she will be available for adoption. However, her adopters will need to make sure she sees a professional farrier according to the schedule recommended by GSH's official farrier.
