Deuce is a 10yr old QH gelding. He kind of has a bad hock, he isn’t lame on it, but it will swell with too much weight - he will have a 150 pound weight limit for riders. We recommend a joint supplement and that may help quite a bit and he may be able to handle more weight at that point. He is broke to ride. We were told he is registered but do not have his papers or his registered name. His hoof was half cracked when we got him (it’s not a full quarter crack up to the cornet, same foot as the bad hock). The other 3 have been trimmed regularly, but the other hasn’t. He will likely have to be sedated for a trim on that one foot. He can be a little pushy, but has been worked with a lot and is improving. He will test you if he thinks he can get away with it. When I rode him he seemed to be broke thru leg pressure. He didn’t rein the best or stop the best off rein, but once pressure was applied through the saddle he listened to the commands. He’s a very pretty horse, I think he was originally bred for western pleasure (he has the looks for it). He halters, ties, loads. Overall he’s a pretty good guy. Deuce is located near Colton, SD.
