October 2015: Jayme is now in South Dakota, to be evaluted, ridden and adopted! She's a stunningly beautiful mare, and thanks to great handling at her foster has really good ground manners. We've backed her and will start putting rides on her as long as she is here. She's a very responsive mare with a lot of potential. She has very easy movement and would excel at western pleasure or hunt seat, and shows a lot of willingness and promise for showmanship. She's level headed and will likely be a good trail horse as well.
Jayme originally came to GSH as a 5 year old with a 5-month old baby at her side. She as adopted out and has lived with her adopted family for the past four years. However, her adopter's husband's health has worsened, and he needs a lung transplant; additionally Jayme recently suffered an injury that required stitches and needs some extra care. They are no longer able to care for Jayme so she's coming back to GSH to find a new home. Jayme is in Minnesota, and heading to foster with another GSH adopter who lost her adopted horse last week to colic, and needs a temporary companion for her remaining 23 year old mare while they grieve and heal. Jayme's adopter has sent her for training, so we're looking forward to working with her and seeing what she knows now, and finding her the perfect home!
