Chikala is a new intake. His name means "small" in Lakota, and he comes from a young man on the Lower Brule Reservation. His name is pronounced "cheek-ah-lah" and he appears to be about 5 years old, though we'll have the vet verify that. He needs to be gelded, but is easy to handle.
Update: After lots of consideration, Chikala has been removed from our Adoption Program and will be serving as a Bug Club pony, helping children in our communities learn about horses. He will be trained to ride and drive.
