Woody is a pony gelding who has come to GSH due to a medical issue. He was found in his pasture with what appeared to be a large, bleeding, open wound. As it was cleaned up it appears to be a skin tag type growth on his tail dock that we had surgically removed and biopsied (waiting on results). He's a good sized pony who loves people. We were told he's been used as a leadline pony for younger children, however he has not yet been evaluated.
UPDATE Fall 2017- Woody has had a summer to relax and heal. The growth that was removed was found to be malignant but the vets are confident that the whole growth was removed. A saddle was put on Woody early fall but a riding evaluation has not been done due to rainy weather. He was an amazing boy for the farrier and is much better at being lead ratherror than leading you!
