AUGUST 2017 UPDATE: Eliza is a super friendly girl who has grown like a weed in foster. Her teeth at this point show she is under 2, making her a yearling with an early 2016 birthday. She is long legged and has very animated gaits, literally floating across pasture. She's friendly and calm about new things, though can be a little stubborn about learning. Once she's figured it out though, she's got it. Currently working on basic groundwork and easily being caught.
Eliza is from the International Society for the Protection of Mustangs and Burros, and came to GSH in November of 2016 during a crisis at ISPMB involving county impoundment and seizure, overcrowding and lack of resources. She was think on intake but her feet are not in crisis and with good food, nutrition, and farrier work she will be just fine. Eliza is still cautious of humans and slower to warm up than her friend Peggy, and we are allowing her to take her time to learn to trust us.
***May 2017 Update*** Eliza has come a long way in foster. She is currently working on leading and loves being groomed.
